The National Task Force in an institute plays a very crucial role in ensuring the safety, security and well-being of students and staff, especially women. It is formed as per the directions of the Supreme Court and regulatory bodies to create standard operating procedures for a safe working environment. Its importance lies in strengthening campus security through proper lighting, CCTV surveillance, secure rest rooms and deployment of guards, while also monitoring duty hours and working conditions to prevent physical and mental exhaustion. The task force provides a confidential platform for reporting incidents of harassment, ragging or any kind of abuse and ensures prompt and fair action. The objective of NTF is to spread widespread awareness among students so that no student studying in an educational institution remains stressed due to any reason, whether social, economic, study related or any other reason. It also focuses on mental health support by promoting counselling services and stress management initiatives. In this context, the National Task Force Cell in our college, Sant Mohan Singh Khalsa Labana Girls College, Barada, was established in August 2025, with Dr. Navneet Kaur appointed as the Nodal Officer of the cell to oversee its functioning and ensure a safe and inclusive campus.
