Since its inception in 1981, Department of Economics continues to be a leading centre of teaching, research and learning of Economics. It comprises the total strength of approximate 200 students in the courses offered by  the Department.

At present the department has one well qualified, competent and experienced faculty member. Overall good academic results with distinction from time to time. The department has highly qualified faculty with zeal to participate in National & International Seminars.

The department has continuous series of activities like:-

• Department participate on 21^st June 2019 on INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA.
• Publication by the faculty research paper in INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR.

Organize:-

1. Economic quiz.
2. One day workshop on power point presentation learning for B.A1 students  1^st oct,2019
3. Organize Slogan writing &Essay Writing competition on over population, Ban on single use plastic, Tree Plantation to save environment Fit India moment. 42 students participated in these competitions.
4. OATH taking ceremony of SARDAR VALLABH BAI PATEL & Run for Unity also organize. We all run for unity irrespective of all caste, creed, and colors religion with the students, beneficiaries – 58 students participated in these competitions.

Prize winning moments: - State level PowerPoint competition department guided the student & one student got consolation prize in Hindu girls’ college jagadhari out of 45 competitors – bring awards for the department.

Motivational lecture:-

1. Department gave motivational lecture time to time 4^th Nov 2019 on” Your Planning & Actions Should Be Result Oriented” under IQAC/NAAC in SMS KHALSA COLLEGE (BARARA) Beneficiaries presentation 221 students.
2. For N.S.S students gave PowerPoint presentation on “Personality Development”. 150 students attend this workshop.

Attend workshop “MANTHAN” by MHRD&MESE skill development courses:-media with entertainment industry 18dec, 2019..

Department of Economics is very active in  providing  Moral Value in the students by giving them time to time lecture on Vivekananda teaching.

Best practices for the society:-

1. Department is very much giving service & contribute to the society by Donating Blood 37 times to save a life  as there is no alternative for blood & can’t be produced in any factory to help the society.
2. Department of Economics learnt & did three days workshop on kitchen gardening including Natural Farming various methods to detoxifyland,&learn how to protect our natural resources of land,soil,water & vegetation under the gardening experts  srr sri institute of agriculture science & technology . The knowledge   is shared with students beneficiaries - 83 students.
